Doaa’s Library uses the information needed to provide reader accounts and access to books. This policy explains what that means when you use the library.
Information used by the library
When you create an account, the library uses your email address and authentication-related identifiers to identify your account and let you sign in. Authentication emails, such as account confirmation or password recovery messages, are sent as needed to operate your account.
The library records your borrowing history and current borrowing status, the books you have purchased for permanent access, your Library Access subscription status, and your reading progress and saved place. These records let the library administer borrowing, provide the reading access you have, and keep your place across sessions.
For paid access, the library receives transaction or subscription status and related confirmation identifiers from the applicable payment provider so it can verify an individual book purchase or Library Access membership and record the appropriate access on your account. Individual book purchases are processed through PayPal, and Library Access subscriptions are processed through Gumroad. Doaa’s Library does not receive or store your credit card numbers, banking details, or payment account credentials.
Necessary technical and security information may also be processed to operate the service, protect accounts, respond to errors, and meet applicable legal obligations.
How the information is used
We use this information to provide and secure accounts, administer free borrowing, give access to books you are entitled to read, save your reading position, verify paid access with PayPal and Gumroad, send necessary service communications, and meet applicable legal obligations.
Retention
Information is kept only as reasonably necessary for these purposes and for applicable legal or operational obligations. Reading progress is saved with your account separately from borrowing periods or subscription status so you can return to your place whenever you have access to the book again.
